You eye me off amongst the flock
With look of pure disdain
You loathe me like a dirty sock
Yet here you are again
You seize the chance to push me round
I’m frequently abused
This love-hate bond in which we’re bound
Just finds me getting used
I’m vital, needed and required
To go the extra mile
I’m over-worked yet undesired
Whilst flung down every aisle–
But,…
My mind’s my own and that is that
It’s wayward and it’s wonky
Though cagey as a shithouse rat
I’m stubborn as a donkey
Quite hard to steer, I’ll make you fret
I’m over going forward
While one wheel does a pirouette
My other three head doorward
And if you pack me way too full
I simply won’t play ball
No wonder I’m a wretched thing
And such a bitch to haul
The flogged and well-worn shopping cart
To thrive in filth’s my goal
My hygiene factor’s off the chart
But this is how I roll…
I’m smeared with every kind of sin
No care, no clean, no rest
You’ll never reign this feral in
So do your level best
Yes, arm yourself with all you’ve got
Strap on the rusty skates
Release me from my parking spot
Your chariot, awaits…

Am reading your stuff again for inspiration for my own! No plagiarism intended either…lol! I just want to know if my brand of humour poetry is too long or cliche or whatever it might be that prevents it being accepted.
Reading this, among others of yours, I’m feeling a bit more hopeful. I love your style, but then always have, and even though I can’t model my own on yours, I can take a few pointers from it.
This one is hysterical! In future, hand on my heart, I shall revere the next trolley that won’t. bloody. steer!
Hey Gypsy – thanks so much. Glad I could inspire you. I write about anything but mainly what irks me haha. Can you tell that I have a little trolley rage? LOL I just love giving inanimate objects a voice haha. Anyway sorry if the site is a little convoluted to navigate at the moment, it is getting a complete overhaul. I am just adding all the links over the next few days. Then I can get back to writing more and hopefully some time at FS. Take it easy and thanks for your comments.
